We have essential work taking place this week, and following the delays at the weekend we have made a number of changes to minimise the impact as much as possible.
Between 9:30am and 3:00pm on both this Wednesday and Thursday (20th and 21st March) we will need to close a lane on both the northbound and southbound sides of the bridge, between Hessle and Barton towers. The toll booths and tag lanes will be unaffected. By carrying out these works during the above times, we will be able to avoid disruption during the busiest travel times.
Also, between 8pm Friday (22nd March) and the early hours of Monday morning (25th March) we are continuing our important maintenance on some expansion joints on the Humber Bridge itself. Due to the nature of the works, there will be times during this period that require a temporary contraflow to be in place between the Toll Booths and just South of Hessle Tower.
All being well, this will complete the works on the expansion joints on the northbound side of the bridge. There will be similar works on the southbound side in the coming weeks, which we will announce nearer the time. There are no works planned to take place during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. We thank you for your continued patience over the past few months.
Please note that throughout the above works you will still be able to cross the Bridge in either direction with or without a HumberTag. However, you will need to follow the signage and adhere to all traffic management.
Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling during this time, and drive carefully through the roadworks.
