We’re so excited to share some great news with you! Our brand-new Rubbing Trail is now open at our estate, and it’s the perfect outdoor adventure for families and explorers of all ages!

So, what exactly is a Rubbing Trail?

It’s a fun and creative way to enjoy the outdoors! As you follow the trail, you’ll come across beautifully engraved plaques. With a simple piece of paper and a crayon or pencil, you can capture these designs by placing the paper over the plaque and rubbing over it to reveal the image.

Our Rubbing Trail celebrates the connection between our estate and the bridge, with each plaque showcasing a unique part of the bridge’s design.

But that’s not all, we’re also in the process of implementing an audiowalk that’ll run alongside the rubbing trail. The idea is that each plaque will have an audio recording associated with it, and there is an app called Echoes.xyz which you can install which will play the recordings as you walk along.  Please visit here for more information.

How to join the adventure:

  1. Start at the Trailhead: The plaques can be done in any order, but we do have a couple of ‘official’ start points.
  2. Follow the Path: There are 8 plaques in total, can you find them all?
  3. Create Your Rubbings: Simply place your paper over the plaque and rub with a crayon or pencil to capture the design. Need some paper and crayons? No worries – pop into our Wellbeing Hub when they’re open (click the link to see their opening times).
  4. Finish the Trail: Once you’ve collected rubbings from all the plaques – why not tag in our social media accounts?

It’s the perfect time to grab your friends and family and be among the first to enjoy this wonderful new addition to our estate!
